ISPPack Features

This is an overview on ISPPack features:

- Supported authentication server: tacacs server

- Supported operating system: Linux - RedHat

- Supported database: Postgres

- Online client bill:

users will be able to see their online usage including date-time, amount charged....

- Password changing:

users will be able to change their pass through the web interface.

- Online accounting:

User’s account will be expired whenever their balance becomes below their credit limit (online termination)

- Variant hourly rate

- Traffic base billing (bytesin-bytesout)

- Price plan :

plan can have discount scheme (like 50% off etc.)

- Time base restriction:

users can only be connected in the defined timing and if user will be connected at the time when the defined time gets finished then user will be disconnected and will not be able to connect again.

- prepaid internet cards

- billing software logs:

complete logs files are provided so that in case of any error or in abnormal behavior the problem could be figured out.

- edited data reports:

if any billing system administrator updates the record of a user, then its logs are kept so that later on it can be figured out who did it.

- 100% web based management

- The ability to define the number of concurrent sessions for each use

- Reports of consumption and credit for each user via web

- Support of virtual ISP definition, in a way that the visp could act as a real ISP.

- Supporting PAP for authentication

- Back up facility

- LAN accounting facility (using VPN):

one of network's servers should be configured as a VPN server and the VPN client software should be installed on the networks computer.

Dialup accounting facilities:

If ISPPack is used for dialup user accounting, depending on whether the ports for user connection are connected to Linux server (multi-ports) or they are connected to an Access server, which is located in the network, the software can take care of the accounting tasks
